Counter Culture #JustOneSwitch

I am so pleased to say that I have partnered with an amazing company called Counter Culture. They are a new online beauty market place focused heavily on offering ethical and sustainable beauty products.

This month they are running a campaign called #JustOneSwitch which is encouraging the public to make more eco-friendly choices in their beauty routines and considering their responsibility to the environment.

For me, and many of us, one of the hardest places to make swaps is in our beauty routines. That’s why I have tried out five of the products available on their site and am going to share them with you today!  If you fancy trying out some Counter Culture products use the code LITTLEBL10 at the checkout for 10% off!

Success! You're on the list.

Aura-Lotus Lip Bloom ‘Praline Dream’

This liquid lipstick has the most incredible staying power. I even did the wipe test (you know where you rub the back of your hand over your lips and see if it smudges?) and nothing! It stayed put!! I would say that I possibly wouldn’t pick the Praline Dream colour again, just as it has more brown tones in it that I would usually go for but I have to say, I have been wearing it. Maybe it is time I venture out!

Eye Mud

It is so so so refreshing to find eco-friendly products that actually are colourful! I am Not usually one for neutral tones. If I have bothered to put on makeup, which honestly has become less frequent since COVID, I want you to know I am wearing it! I joke, but I do really love playing with coloured eye shadows, I find it is a great way to express myself. I love the wide range of colours in this pallet, especially the pinks – if you have been following me for a while, this will be no surprise to you at all! If I really try hard to criticise I would say that

British Pink Clay Mask

What better for a self care evening that a good old fashioned face mask!? I am always keen to find new face masks and this one is definitely up there with my favourites! Oscar’s sister and I tried this out when we visited last and we were both super impressed. The white powder magically turns to a gorgeous pink when mixed with water and unlike packet masks – which cause unnecessary waste – you are in total control of the consistency! There is an optional oil which you can add, however, I was super happy with just adding water. I had just had a bit of a breakout and it cleared up right away after using this mask, I was very impressed.

POSY Patchouli & Orange Deodorant

While I only ordered a small sample tin, which I recommend doing if you are a little weary of natural deodorants. If you have been reading my blog for a long time, you know I am always a bit nervous to try a new deodorant as I have a horrible fear of smelling! I am also a little sensitive in terms of my skin so I am again always nervous! However, the scents of this brand just made me have to try it and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised! Unlike a lot of other brands, I had no reaction whatsoever and I was totally stink free! That’s a win all round. If you are vegan however, this might not be the deodorant for you as they do include beeswax in their products.

Bamboo Flannel

While this may look like an ordinary flannel, it is actually not. This is a bamboo flannel, which is incredibly soft and is a far more sustainable option than regular flannels you may pick up at mainstream stores! The bamboo within it is also naturally antibacterial and antifungal meaning you can be assured that you are getting a wonderfully hygienic option as well as doing your bit for the planet.

So what do I think of Counter Culture? I have to say I love it! Are they perfect? No of course not, but they definitely have their hearts in the right place! I highly recommend checking out their products. All of them are meticulously assessed to ensure the highest ethical and sustainable standards are met, and will help you on your way to making #JustOneSwitch this month. Don’t forget to use the code LITTLEBL10 for 10% off!
